Even as Sodom and Gomorrah,
and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth
for an example, suffering the vengeance fo eternal fire ~(Jude 7)
America is no longer good. At one time this nation had an aire of righteousness, but that is gone. This is a message of judgment, and gloom and doom. But it
is also a message of hope. It may be the final chance for America to repent and
turn form its sins. If not, its doom may be imminent.
Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed
by fire from heaven because they had forsaken God, and were practicing all kind of sexual immorality, including gross homosexuality. These kind s of sins are rampant in America today.
Over the past generation since the 1960s , immorality has increased steadily.
Now, in 2003, homosexuality is upported in both schools and courts.
Sexual sins are not the
only sins leading America to her doom. All manner of sin is practiced today,
blatantly, in broad daylight. In the 60s- 70s when I went to school it was rare
to find a jack-knife in a students pocket. Now there are metal detectors in schools
because students carry guns. Rumbles, what we called gang fights in the past,
used to involve knives or chains, but today the weapon of choice is the 9 millimeter,
and kids are getting shot. Scripture tells us that before God destroyed the world with the Flood, that the Earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled
with violence.~(Genesis 6:11)
Drug abuse and addiction
is out of control. Alcohol abuse is rampant.
Drugs and alcohol use lead to all type of crime. The perpetrators of these
crimes are put in prisons that are nothing but universities of crime. Prisoners
are released into society with a masters degree in criminal behavior because thats about all they have to learn. As a result worse and worse crimes are committed. Much of
this problem is the result of drugs and alcohol. The Bible calls it sorcery. The word is translated from he Greek Pharmakeus, which is where we get the word pharmacy
and pharmaceutical. God tells us that mystery Babylon, which is symbolic of present
day America, deceived all nations by this sorceries (Revelations 18:23)
I grew up in a small town where
the teenagers drank beer and smoked pot. There were no harder drugs available. You had to go to the city for things like cocaine and heroin. That began to change in the early 80s. By the 1990s cocaine
was available everywhere, especially crack cocaine. I remember getting off the
bus in a small town in Georgia in 1999, and being accosted in broad daylight by crack dealers trying to sell me their product. Its happened to me in several other places too.
There is no sense of right or wrong. No conviction. Its all being done right out in the open.
The sexual sins are no longer
in the closet as they say. Both
men and women will casually approach a person for sex. Its like a freeforall. While some people do fear catching, AIDS or other diseases, many no longer care. Ive heard people say they dont care if they die, or that it doesnt matter because
they are already dying from alcohol or drugs. So they spread their sins throughout
society. They seduce, they rape, they rape, they tempt, they entice, and in the
end, they destroy. This is just how it was in Sodom and Gomorrah.
Judgment upon America is
immanent unless there is widespread repentance~ and that means the rampant abuses have to be forsaken. All during the 90s we had warning signs, but by and large the people did not understand them. Domestic terrorism, attacks on American soil, then 9-11, but instead of stepping back and asking what America
might be doing to bring on such attacks, most people became arrogantly nationalistic and cried for war! 9-11 was nothing compared to what will come. " Therefore shall
her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine, and she shall be utterly burned with fire; for strong is the
Lord God who judgeth her, for in one hour is thy judgment come".~ (Revelation 18:8-10)
America was once good. America is no longer good. She is not immune to attack. 9-11 proved that. So did Oklahoma City
in 1993, and Pearl Harbor in 1941. And America is not immune to nuclear annihilation. People are deceived to think Americas technology and defenses will save her. They boast about the distant early warning radar system, satellites, and interceptor
missiles.
Its interesting that on
December 7, 1941 the American radar operators had the Japanese squadrons on their brand new radar, but they thought it was
a flight of B-17s from the mainland. THEY THOUGHT, so the bombs fell down upon
them. Technology didnt save them. On
9-11-01, American intelligence had information that there was going to be an imminent terrorist attack. When the planes were hijacked, fighters were scrambled to intercept the two headed towards the WTC. They were 7-8 minutes too late, that close.
In fact, no fighters were launched at all to intercept the plane headed for the Pentagon. Americas intelligence and
technology again failed her. So now, were to expect they can stop a nuclear assault?
As with Babylon of old,
so shall it be should God decide to unleash judgment; "The mighty men of Babylon have forborne to fight, they have remained
in their holds, their might hath failed; they became as women, they have burned her dwelling places, her bars are broken."~(Jeremiah
51:30)
Though Babylon should mount up
to heaven, though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers come unto her, saith the Lord~(Jeremiah
51:53)
When Judgment was pronounced
on the earth for its violence in Noahs day, nothing could stop the flood. When
judgment was pronounced on Sodom and Gomorrah, nothing stopped the fire from falling. When ancient Babylon met its doom, her
mighty armies could not defend her. She fell.
An American naval base was devastated in 1941, nothing prevented that and the World Trade Center fell in 2001- nothing
could stop that either. Shall we continue to be so arrogant as to believe were
invincible?
What is worst of all is that
America is shaking its fist in gods face. Because America has so much exposure
to the Word of God, and Religious freedom allows the gospel to be preached unkindred, America is held more responsible . Jesus said unto whom much is given, much is required.
Its almost as if most Americans have become immune to the Bible, or that its so commonplace that society is apathetic.
A preacher recently told
me that when he went to Russia a few years ago and bought cases of Bibles into the street, announcing, free bibles, that the
people mobbed him. Those who did not get a bible were crying. But he also said if he were to do the same thing in Times Square New York, absolutely nothing would happen,
or that perhaps someone might curse at him or spit upon him. This only confirmed
that America is indifferent to the gospel. When a nation rejects God and blatantly
flaunts its sins in the presence of so much light, it has signed its sentence of doom.
..For if the mighty works
which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained unto this day.
But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.~ (Matthew
11:23-24)
With all its churches,
its missionaries its crusades, its televangelists, there seem to be a saturation of Christianity, but yet it has little overall
effect. Society passes it off as commonplace, just another freak show, and pay
little mind to it. The church is partly to blame for its lack of power, and many
preach a compromised watered down gospel. So society descends into an abyss of immoral chaos, sure to bring certain judgment. Its inevitable, and its historical.
A word of caution here;
National repentance will not come about by legislating morality. It will not
come about by enforcing tough conservative laws. This is the grave error that
some fundamentalists make. Tough laws do not change hearts. In fact, in some cases tougher laws breed bitterness, tie up the court systems, waste tax dollars, and
actually create tougher criminals. Trying to change the moral climate through
strict law will fail. If peoples hearts are not changed to where they become
righteous from heir relationship with God, no amount of legislation will change them.
The church needs to stand in the gap, walk in the power of The Spirit and rescue those who are perishing. National repentance will come about ONLY by a widespread revival brought by the Holy Spirit changing lives.
The war on drugs has not worked. Its cost billions of dollars and countless lives, and theres still a huge drug problem. The drug addict must change. No amount
of Police or military intervention will ever stop an addict from getting their supply.
More prisons and bigger police forces will not help either. More prisons
will only create more negative atmospheres that breed more criminals. These people
must be reached by a sovereign act of God, before they head down the road to destruction.
Statistics would prove only a small percentage of prisoners change for the better, but many become worse. The legal system fails in the long run, and when high courts uphold laws that allow the butchering of babies
and gross homosexual acts (sodomy) as acceptable lifestyles, this nation is in peril of disaster! Only true repentance from the heart will change this trend, or the fire fall will soon glow on the horizon
to burn away the sinful kingdom!
We are the salt of the
earth, and salt is used to stop the spread of rottenness. This nation is rotting
from the inside. It is the rotting tyranny of unfair and unjust laws, it is the
rancid festering decay of a system that no longer desires to uphold its own constitution, it is the impersonal oppression
that is at the root of every dictatorship. It is putrid sewage. That, if left to spread its insidious poison, will spoil the entire nation and bring it to her knees, rotten
from the inside!
Pornography, perversion, sex,
sex, sex, everywhere, drugs, booze, robbery, witchcraft, Satanic cults, unbeliefs, a denial of the Holy Creator God, the Teaching
of evolution, monkeys as our ancestors, NO!
This is a rancid putrefying sore, and society has become degenerate and if anything the law of entropy applies: people
are de- evolving and becoming like brute beasts, wild ferocious creatures, without natural affection, killers, haters, indifferent,
having their conscience seared with a hot iron- and the fires will burn it all away!
Rotten form the inside!
And when Europe is the
world superpower and America is a byword, a polluted, starving, impoverished 3rd world country with no might, then
shall someone ask, What became of America the great, America the beautiful? And in that day it shall be said that America
rotted and festered and became polluted, in that she embraced sin as her lover and no longer upheld her own rights or laws,
but threw them to the streets and trampled her won constitution under foot, by renouncing God and removing God from public
places, to replace God with sinful idols! For these reasons she is destroyed,
the hope lies in Jesus, in returning to his path of light. Shall we, or not?
